SlashGear Evening Wrap-Up: April 19, 2012

Happy Thursday, everyone. As we get close to finshing up another week, let’s check out what made news in the world of tech today. For starters, iPhone 5 LTE release date tipped via Qualcomm. Also, Microsoft’s newest operating system is in the news again – Windows 8 Enterprise’s major exclusive features. And in the world of LTE, AT&T adds three new 4G LTE markets.

Featured: We have a few featured articles today. First off is an opinion article about the state of Nokia, and one man in particular – Stephen Elop is a genius. Of course, Nokia still has a long way to go before it can catch up to Android. Which brings us to – Spotify’s ICS upgrade brings the heat; we go hands-on. And in other Android news, we delve into what could or could not be a tablet game-changer: Xtex $150 Android is no Tab killer.

Microsoft, Sony:: So in the category of “other stuff” that made news today, we have this: Microsoft Entertainment earnings take a hit. Of course, the company’s Entertainment division is where the Xbox 360 fits in, which is supposed to be one of Microsoft’s biggest cash cows, so that’s not good news. Good news for Sony, though – Sony set to buy EMI for $2.2 billion with EU clearing. And finally, bad news for Apple users: Flashback Trojan infection down, but more Mac malware on the way.
